Yvonne M. (Washabaugh) Fontana

Yvonne M. (Washabaugh) Fontana, 87, of Greensburg, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2023, at Independence Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. She was born July 14, 1936, in Youngwood, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Evelyn (Wilkinson) Washabaugh. Prior to retirement she had been employed by Dave’s Welding and Heavy-Duty Repairs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony C. Fontana Sr.; infant son, Patrick Raymond Fontana; three sisters, Stella Devlin, Margaret Shaffer, and Wanda Ritenour; and brother, Ronald Washabaugh. She is survived by her daughter, Victoria Wian (Thomas B. Sr.); son, Anthony Fontana Jr. (Anita); five grandchildren whom she thought the world of, Thomas Wian (Kristi), Jonathon Wian (Caitlin), and Erica, Toni, and Patrick Fontana; four great grandchildren, Riley, Tristen, Kelsea and Bryce; two sisters, Claudia Fallecker (James) and Shawnee Harr; brother, Lawrence Washabaugh, III (Linda); a special niece Deborah Stofko; and several nieces and nephews. Yvonne was a wonderful cook. Before her eyes began to fail, she loved to crochet and made many beautiful things. She will be truly missed by all who loved her. Per Yvonne’s request, there will be no public viewing. Interment will be private. The family would like to thank the staff at Westmoreland Hospital and UPMC Shadyside.  Leo M.
