William M. Montz, 72, of Greensburg, died Monday, January 20, 2025, in Mountain View Senior Living. He was born March 31, 1952, in Wilkinsburg, a son of the late Warren and Jane (Steele) Montz. Prior to retirement, Bill had been employed by the University of Pittsburgh. He had also worked for Westinghouse Air Brake and as a part time police officer for East McKeesport. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Greensburg. Bill enjoyed traveling with his wife Nancy, especially to the Smoky Mountains. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Fred Montz. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 50 years, Nancy J. (Tyborowski) Montz; his brother, David Montz (Mary); two sisters-in-law, Linda Fitzmaurice (Marty) and Barb Montz; and four nieces and nephews, Valerie, Philip, David, and Jayna. Friends will be received from 10 AM to 12 PM Thursday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg, followed by a funeral service to begin at 12 PM in the funeral home with the Rev. Kevin Haley officiating.
