Walter C. Houston

Walter C. Houston, 80, of Armbrust, died Friday, January 2, 2026 at RNC at Greater Pittsburgh, Hempfield Township.  He was born December 10, 1945 in Greensburg, a son of the late Charles J. and Goldie J. (Barnes) Houston.  He was a graduate of Greensburg Salem High School class of 1963 and prior to retirement worked at Elliott Company, Jeannette.  Walter loved gardening, hunting, fishing and his camp in Potter County.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Cheryl Lynn Houston, a son, Walter C. Houston, Jr., 2 brothers, Donald and Robert Houston and a brother-in-law, Philson Hoffer.  He is survived by his wife, Linda L. (Dudley) Houston, 2 children, Eric S. Houston (Melissa) of Greensburg and Janet L. Antonich (Glenn Wilt) of New Stanton, 5 grandchildren, Anthony, Tyler, Zachary, Elijah and Elizabeth, a great grandson, Huxlee, a brother, Wayne Houston (Patricia) of Greensburg, his sister, Linda Hoffer of Greensburg, 2 sisters-in-law, Linda Houston of Ligonier and Connie Houston of Virginia and several nieces and nephews.  Friends will be received from 4 to 6 PM Thursday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 2072 Route 130, Pleasant Unity, with a memorial service to be held at 6 PM in the funeral home.  Private inurnment in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Hempfield Township.  The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Westmoreland County Food Bank, 100 Devonshire Drive, Delmont, PA 15626 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
