Valerie C. “MeMe” Cordon, 94, formerly of North Huntingdon, died Thursday, December 20, 2018 in Westmoreland Manor, Greensburg. She was born November 22, 1924 in Poland, a daughter of the late Karl and Victoria (Skrcypczak) Kuczkiewicz. Prior to retirement she had been employed by Horne’s, Rite Aid, and worked in the office at the Red Cross. She was a former member of Immaculate Conception Parish, Irwin, and a former member of the Young at Heart group at St. Barbara Parish, Harrison City. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles. MeMe especially enjoyed visiting with family and dancing the polka. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Bruno Kotarski. She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Galek and husband Michael, of Greensburg, and Mariann Hawkins and husband Phillip, of Irwin; four grandchildren, Greg and Rebecca Galek, and Jacqueline and Victoria Hawkins; her brother, John Kotarski, of Greensburg; three sisters, Cecelia “Tillie” Zuzich, of Trafford, Helen Rugh, and Mary “Susie” Kifer and husband Dean, all of Jeannette; her sister-in-law, Betty Kotarski, of Greensburg; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 PM Friday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg. Prayers will begin at 8:30 AM Saturday in the funeral home, followed by a funeral mass to be celebrated at 9 AM in St. Bruno Roman Catholic Church, South Greensburg. Interment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
