Thomas M. Wasserman, 92, of South Greensburg, died Wednesday, January 6, 2021 in St. Anne Home, Greensburg. He was born March 12, 1928 in Greensburg, a son of the late John and Mary (Olayer) Wasserman. Prior to retirement he had been employed by Brown Bovari in South Greensburg. He was a member of St. Bruno Roman Catholic Church, South Greensburg. Thomas was a Marine Corps veteran serving during World War II. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Grace Wincko; five brothers, Michael, John, Stephen, Edward, and Joseph Wasserman; three sisters, Mary Ann Kocan, Sophie Wasserman, and Elizabeth Kowick; and his former wife, Josephine (Zajdel) Wasserman. He is survived by his daughter, Tami Wincko and husband Ron, of Pittsburgh; his granddaughter, Emily; Josephine’s children, Marlene Shawley, Denise DeFelice, and Michael Kucenic; and several nieces and nephews from the Wasserman family, Evelyn Simmons, William “Sonny” Kocan, and Tommy Kocan. There will be a private visitation, followed by a funeral mass to be celebrated at 12 PM Saturday in St. Bruno Roman Catholic Church, 1517 Poplar St., Greensburg. Private interment will be in Westmoreland County Memorial Park. Please be prepared to adhere to all current health guidelines, including face masks and social distancing. LEO M.
