Theodore "Butch" Sprung

Theodore E. “Butch” Sprung, 64, of Greensburg, died Monday, November 17, 2025, in Independence Health System Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 28, 1961, in Greensburg, a son of the late John W. and Joyce M. (Lucas) Sprung.  He was a member of Youngwood Sportsman Club and worked as a contractor for John W Sprung Remodeling And Repairs. He loved to hunt, fish, go camping, and build things, but mainly enjoyed spending time with his family. In his final act of love and kindness, Butch gave the gift of life through organ donation.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John W. Sprung, Jr.; his mother-in-law, Dolores J. Barber; his brother-in-law, William Barber, Jr.; his nephew, Christopher Barber; and his niece, Alanna Barber.  He is survived by his wife, Diane (Barber) Sprung; three daughters, April Caldwell (Bryan), Marissa Sprung, and Heather Lipinski (Tim); six grandchildren that held his heart, Eric and Cole Patterson, Gabby Sprung, Austin and Mason Lipinski, and Alexis Caldwell; his sister, Terri Walton (Joe); son-in-law, Robert Patterson; father-in-law, William E. Barber, Sr.; two sisters-in-law, Melanie Sprung and Jamie Barber; two brothers-in-law, Alan Barber (Patti) and Earl Barber (Anita); special cousin, Robert Wright (Lynne); and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and lots of friends.  At Butch’s request, there will be no services or visitation.  A celebration of life will be held at a later time.  LEO M.
