Thelma P. Andrews, 90, of Norvelt, died Friday, October 19, 2018 at Nature Park Commons, Greensburg. She was born November 13, 1927 in Mammoth, a daughter of the late Jacob L. and Effie (Fry) Peffer. For sixty-five years of marriage she shared with her husband, the late Edward F. Andrews, a Christ-centered home. She served Middle Presbyterian Church as trustee, ordained elder, historian, seamstress, coordinator of acolytes, choir director, fundraiser and member of the women’s guild. Mrs. Andrews was educated at Hurst High School and the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg. She retired from Westmoreland County after a career with District Court in Mt. Pleasant Township. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a grandson, Matthew E. Andrews. She was the last surviving of her parent’s 12 children. She is survived by 4 children, Edward F. Andrews, Jr. and wife Joyce of Beverly Hills, FL, Virginia Mullock of Philadelphia, Karen Woolston and husband Harry of Philadelphia and Donald P. Andrews and wife Barbara of Cook Township, 5 grandchildren, Jennifer Peters and husband Tom, Edward Andrews, Cynthia Mullock, Huntley Woolston and Melissa Ansell and husband Jestin, 4 great grandchildren, Logan, Lexus and Glendale Ansell and Nathaniel Peters, and many caring family members and cherished friends. The family expresses their gratitude for gifts of support and care. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Monday at the Leo M. Bacha Funeral Home, Inc., 2072 Route 130, Pleasant Unity, where funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday with The Rev. Daniel E. Baker officiating. Interment will follow in St. Paul Reformed Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant Township. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
