Susan E. Kiren, 77, of Greensburg, died Saturday, March 1, 2025, in Independence Health System Latrobe Hospital. She was born July 21, 1947, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Joseph and Pauline (Paulin) Knott. She was a graduate of Hempfield Area High School and received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Edinboro University. Prior to retirement she had been an art teacher for 36 years in Southmoreland School District. Susan was the president of SPC Arts in Ligonier and was past president of the Greensburg Art Center. She was a talented artist of all kinds but especially enjoyed painting. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, David Knott. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, William Kiren; her son, Jeff Kiren; daughter, Emily Kiren and husband Branden Bisel; grandson, Sebastian; sister, Jody Rathgeb and husband Tom; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 5 to 8 PM Thursday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg. Additional visitation will be from 11 AM to 1 PM Friday in the funeral home.
