Sidney W. Glass

Sidney W. Glass, 70, of Greensburg, died Tuesday, July 30, 2024, in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh.  He was born March 27, 1954, in Natrona Heights, a son of the late William R. and Hazel E. (Sheaffer) Glass. Sidney graduated from Clarion University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting, starting his longtime career in the accounting field. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Cathedral in Greensburg.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his aunt who raised him, Minnie Klingensmith; a daughter, Stacy Schue; a brother, Sam Glass; and a sister, Loretta Pochiba.  He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Rita M. (Szymkowiak) Glass; two children, Stephanie Welsh (Andrew) and Jason Glass (Julie); three grandchildren, Audrey, Madelyn, and Ian Welsh; and a sister, Deanna Miller. 

Friends will be received from 12 to 1:30 PM Monday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg, where a funeral liturgy will immediately follow at 1:30 PM in the funeral home with the Rev. Christopher Pujol officiating.  Interment will follow in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery.  www.bachafh.com
