Sheila Ann Shogan, 88, of Greensburg, died Tuesday, July 1, 2025, in her home. She was born April 7, 1937, in Dorchester, Mass., a daughter of the late John and Maxine (Miller) Conroy.
She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Greensburg where she previously served as a eucharistic minister. Sheila loved her faith and the church. She was co-founder and president of Birthright of Westmoreland County for 50 years. She was a foster mother to many children through Catholic Charities and Adelphoi. She was also a founder and member of the St. Gianna Society. Sheila loved to golf, play bridge, her Friday Seton Hill prayer group, and the Greensburg Magnificat breakfasts.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Corrine Bothen. Sheila is survived by her beloved husband of 70 years this year on July 26th, Ronald George Shogan. She is also survived by seven children, Teresa Logsdon, Mary Montgomery, Kristine Doran (Dennis), Carrie Stavros (James), Kim Hutchins (John), Rhonda Gdula (John), and Timothy Shogan; 16 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 PM Thursday, July 3, 2025, at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg. Prayers will begin at 9:30 AM Saturday, July 5, 2025, in the funeral home, followed by a funeral mass to be celebrated at 10 AM in Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Greensburg with the Rev. Ken Zaccagnini as celebrant. Entombment will follow in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center of Shadyside, or to a charity of one’s choice. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks the many caregivers who were so good to Sheila. www.bachafh.com
