Sara B. “Sally” Burriss, 90, of Greensburg, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 23, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Sara was born on February 13, 1935, a daughter of the late Joseph Zubalik, Sr. and Francis (Kopper) Zubalik.
Sally was a devout Catholic and a member of Saint Paul Parish in Greensburg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence M. "Tig" Burriss; her brothers, Conrad Zubalik and Joseph Zubalik, Jr.; and her sisters, Margaret Ranilovich and Celeste Rause. Sally was the final survivor of her four beloved siblings.
A woman of remarkable independence, Sally lived in her home until her death, determined to maintain her routines and the life she built. She was known for her impeccable style, always dressed to the nines, radiating the same elegance and warmth that defined her spirit. Family meant everything to Sally. She was adored by her many nieces and nephews, who were devoted to her. In return, whether cutting her grass, fixing things around the house, or dropping off groceries, each gesture reflected the deep bond she had nurtured with them over a lifetime.
Sally never missed an opportunity for connection. Whether she was out shopping with her daughters or sitting on her porch greeting neighbors, she had a gift for conversation - warm, curious, and always genuine. She made friends everywhere she went simply by being herself. A devoted sister, Sally spent many years caring for her younger sister, Celeste when illness struck, offering comfort, companionship, and unwavering love. Her dedication to family was one of the many ways she quietly and consistently showed her strength.
Sally is survived by her loving daughters, Sheila Chalot and Linda Decker; and many cherished nieces and nephews, all who were blessed to know her. Her presence will be deeply missed.
Friends will be received from 4 to 7 PM Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg. Prayers will begin at 9:30 AM Wednesday, November 26, 2025, in the funeral home, followed by a funeral mass to be celebrated at 10 AM in St. Paul Parish, Greensburg.
