Ruth M. (Carlson) Price

Ruth M. (Carlson) Price, 93, of Greensburg, died Monday, October 9, 2023, at Independence Health System Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. She was born September 19, 1930, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Oscar L. and Ruth M. (Riffle) Carlson. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Cathedral. Ruth was a 1948 Graduate of Greensburg Salem High School. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas P. Price; daughter, Marcia Ann (Price) McCreery; brother, Oscar Frederick Carlson; and sister, Joan Penzera. She is survived by five children, Thomas J. Price (Cheri), Robert E. Price (Verdale), Karen Sochacki (Thomas), Debby Volk (Michael), and Donna Price; 17 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren with another expected in January; brother-in-law, Michael Penzera; and several nieces and nephews. Ruth’s grandchildren and great grandchildren loved their “Grammy Price” and “Granny Price”. She was a strong, wonderful woman, loving mom, and grandma who valued her family and put everyone first. Ruth will be so greatly missed. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Thursday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg. A Funeral Liturgy will be held at 10:00 AM Friday in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery, Hempfield Township.
