Ruth (Rau) Geary

Ruth Geary, 97, of Greensburg, died Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at her home.  She was born July 3, 1923 in Latrobe, a daughter of the late Carl and Mary E. (Arbore) Rau. Ruth was a graduate of Derry High School, prior to retirement was secretary for her husband’s Geary Oil Company and previously during WWII worked for PA Railroad.  She was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Eastwood Village Garden Club, Greensburg Garden Center and several card clubs.  Ruth loved flowers and gardening as well as watching birds and squirrels.  She always enjoyed time at the family lake house and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Louis H. Geary, Jr., a son, Randall Geary, and all her brothers and sisters.  She is survived by a son Donald L. Geary and wife Judith of Hempfield Township, her daughter, Kathleen Wohlgemuth of Greensburg, daughter-in-law Sandy Geary of Derry, six grandchildren, Carisa (Ryan) Laughon, Brian (Kristin) Geary, Amber (Brian) Fierst, Brad (Carlie) Clingan, Nikki (Derek) Secrist and Stephanie (Kris) Leese, and eleven great-grandchildren, Natalie and Audrey Laughon, Connor and Jack Geary, Jenna and Jordan Fierst, Mackenzie and Madeline Clingan, Randy and Raegan Secrist and Cora Leese.  A private visitation and service will be held for family at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg, with The Rev. Larry E. Kemp officiating.  Private interment in St. Clair Cemetery, Hempfield Township.  The family suggests memorial contributions be made to First Evangelical Lutheran Church or to Greensburg Garden Center.  www.bachafh.com
