Robert Turin Obituary

Robert Lyle Turin, 60, of Latrobe, departed this life Sunday, July 26, 2026, in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, with family by his side. He was born on November 25, 1965, in Greensburg, a son of the late Geraldine (Craig) and Fred Turin.

Rob was known for a warm smile and a big heart. He enjoyed swimming, sports, fishing, and found his peace in nature and animals. He eagerly shared these interests with his children, who have developed similar passions. Regardless of the weather, Rob would take you on an unbeaten path, leading to an unapproved swimming hole, and make sure you had a good meal to follow. He was a proud Poppi to grandson Caysen, who loved to ride on Poppi’s scooter, spot wildlife and play chase. He deeply missed his mother and felt connected to her when watching sports, playing cards and sharing stories while using her well-worn cookware. While Rob had his own anxiety and struggles, he somehow managed to make others feel calm and safe. He was only a 2 hour phone call away, enjoying talking about anything and everything with family and friends. Rob was not ready to end his adventures, but his body fought as hard as it could until the very end. Daddy, Rob you will be very missed, remembered, and always loved. May you now find the gentle stillness you’ve always deserved.

In addition to his parents, Rob was preceded in death by his brother, Kevin Turin; a few close childhood friends; and his best friend Deputy Dog.  He is survived by his three children, Robert Turin of Pittsburgh, Jacob Turin and wife Danielle of Show Low, AZ, Carianne Turin and partner, Tim Koltonski of Pittsburgh, and grandson, Caysen Koltonski; beloved kitty cat Jack-Jack “Rat Jack”, former wife Diana Turin and sister-in-law Peggy Oplinger; four siblings, Regina Vorhauer and husband Allen, Fred Turin and wife Lauren, Karen Quenzler and husband Ronald, and Randall Turin; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He also had several valued friends who checked up on him routinely.

Private funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg. Comments and memories are appreciated.
