It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to Robert T. Rafferty “Raf”, 64, of Bovard, formerly of North Huntington and Ligonier. He passed away peacefully on July 3, 2025, after a long battle with cancer.
Bob was the eldest son to Robert and Mildred “Toots” Rafferty. Since graduating from Norwin High School in 1978, Bob had been a mover with Maroadi Transfer & Storage, a long-haul truck driver and was most recently employed by Huttig Building Systems. He also owned Rafferty’s Chimney & Roof Repair in Ligonier for a long time. Raf touched the lives of everyone who knew him with his outgoing personality and unmistakable sense of humor. He enjoyed canoe trips on the rivers and the Gulf, fishing, golfing, Pittsburgh Steeler football games, DIY projects, and days at the beach.
Forever loved, he will be deeply missed by Leslie, his devoted “Wifey” of 28 years – a perfect match! Surviving is his sister, Karen (Greg) Burgunder of Canonsburg; his brother, Rick (Allison) Rafferty of Lincoln University; and three nephews, Nicholas Brozack, and Zachary and Austin Rafferty. He is predeceased by his parents.
There will be no visitation or services at this time. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Private inurnment will be held in Penn Lincoln Memorial Park, North Huntington. LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg is assisting with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105. www.bachafh.com
