Rita Marie Lucotch, of United, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at the age of 87. She was born July 19, 1938, in Baggaley, a daughter of the late Joseph A. and Marie (Yoboud) Ferlin. Rita loved to read, sometimes reading through a whole book or more in one day! She liked watching game shows and her favorite football team, Notre Dame. She liked to play cards, solve crossword puzzles, put jigsaw puzzles together, play games, cook and make her famous fudge for everyone. Most of all she loved to play BINGO! Most of her Wednesdays were spent at the Polish Falcons in Mt. Pleasant where she would arrive hours before bingo even started so she could help set up, sell tickets and socialize. She looked forward to Wednesdays because she said it felt good to get out of the house and see everyone. She never liked to miss and was still going up just a few months ago. Prior to retirement she was a chef at Greensburg Country Club. Rita was a member of St. Florian Catholic Church, United, and the former Forty Martyrs Catholic Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard J. Lucotch, Sr., a son, Terrance Lucotch, a son-in-law, Doug Orbin, 4 sisters, Dolores Kepchia, Marguerite Kenney, Sister Lorraine Marie Ferlin and Ruth Ann Robinson, 3 brothers, John, Regis and Joseph Ferlin and also several brothers and sisters-in-law. She leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memory forever, 5 children, Leonard Lucotch, Jr., Pamela Caruso, Patricia Orbin, Brian (Kim) Lucotch and Mary Beth (Andy) Yuhas, 10 grandchildren, Jason (Kelly) Tressler, Kyle (Amy) Tressler, Taylor (Jake) Cummings, Corrinn Lucotch, Brenna Lucotch, Matthew (Erica) Orbin, Wesley Orbin (Cindy Jones), Celina Orbin, Kendyl Yuhas (Connor Kreinbrook) and Ava Yuhas (Declan McNair), 3 great grandchildren, Belle, Hadley and Damien, a brother, Donald (Billie) Ferlin, 3 sisters, Beverly (George) Spellman, Gerry (Tom) Trout and Arlene (Ron) Stahl, a sister-in-law, Audrey Lucotch and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 5 PM Sunday, March 8, 2026, at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 2072 Route 130, Pleasant Unity. A funeral liturgy will begin at 10 AM Monday in the funeral home with her nephew, Deacon Mark Ferlin as celebrant. Private inurnment in Forty Martyrs Catholic Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant Township. The family would like to say “thank you” to the Amedisys Hospice Care nurses and aides for their compassionate care. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
