Richard F. “Dick” Fornal, 77, of Southwest Greensburg, was welcomed into the arms of the Lord on Friday, December 12, 2025. He was born June 2, 1948, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Frank and Mary Elizabeth (Sulter) Fornal. Dick was a graduate of Greensburg Central Catholic High School Class of 1966, where he then immediately enlisted in the United States Air Force. He served in the Vietnam War, where he was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal for his meritorious service as a Communications and Relay Center Equipment Repairman. Five days after returning home from Vietnam, he met the love of his life, Debbie Harbaugh.
Dick worked his entire 35-year career at Elliott Company in Jeannette, until his retirement. He was a member of Hempfield Church of Christ and the VFW Post No. 33, Greensburg. He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Deborah J. “Debbie” (Harbaugh) Fornal; his son, Jonathan Fornal (Lara); his daughter, Brenna Snodgrass (Patrick); brother, Robert Fornal; two nieces, Jaime Fornal, of Greensburg, and Amanda Weidtke (Ian), of Chur, Switzerland; and many friends and extended family.
Friends will be received from 1 to 3 PM Tuesday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg where a funeral service will immediately follow at 3 PM with Pastor Todd Payton and Wayne Robertson officiating. Private interment will take place in Harrold Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Greensburg. www.bachafh.com
