Raymond E. “Skip” Palmer, Jr., 80, of Unity Township, died Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at Independence Health System Latrobe Hospital. He was born September 13, 1944, a son of the late Raymond E. Sr. and Olive M. (Foust) Palmer. Prior to retirement he worked 37 years at Clark Metal, Blairsville. He attended Bible Baptist Church and was a member of the Westmoreland County Bee Club. Skip liked raising chickens, tinkering in his workshop, cutting grass and yardwork. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son Todd Raymond Palmer, a daughter, Paula Dickson and 4 sisters, Betty Davis, Charlote Schmidt, Jodie Palmer and Bonnie Harr. He is survived by his wife, Donna M. (Bates) Palmer, a daughter, Debora J. Palmer, a grandson, Chad Dickson (Alexandria), 4 sisters, Grace Bernabei (Augie), Patsy “Toot” Palmer, Carol Howard and Marla McConnell, several nieces and nephews and his dog Mandy. A private graveside service was held at St. Paul Reformed Cemetery with Pastor Matthew P. Schwender officiating. LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 2072 Route 130, Pleasant Unity, in charge of arrangements.
