Ralph Tantlinger Obituary

Ralph E. Tantlinger, 79, of Greensburg, died Friday, February 27, 2026, in VA Medical Center, Pittsburgh.  He was born on October 18, 1946, in Bolivar, a son of the late Leroy and Mae (Riffle) Tantlinger.  Ralph was an Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War where he was stationed in Herminie and Korea.  Prior to retirement he had been employed by Standard Steel for 36 years.  He had also worked at Mailing Specialist.  Ralph was a member of St. Paul Parish, Greensburg.  He was a Boy Scout leader, a member of the Serra Club, and a member and past officer of the United Steelworkers Local No. 1537.  He enjoyed camping, swimming, Ocean City, gardening, and Presque Isle.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Tantlinger, two sisters, Shirley Muir and Connie Miller; and his sister-in-law, Rose Marie Reiter.  He is survived by his wife of 58 1/2 years, Patricia J. (Reiter) Tantlinger; three children, Brian Tantlinger (Debra), Renee Bensur (Christopher), and Jodi Tantlinger (James Richards); three grandchildren, Brandon and Bradley Tantlinger, and Ashley Bensur; three brothers, Irvin Tantlinger (Betty Jane), Ronald Tantlinger (Ann), and Vaughn Tantlinger (Michelle); his sister-in-law, Cassandra Tantlinger; and several nieces and nephews.  Friends will be received from 4 to 8 PM Monday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg.  A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 AM Tuesday in St. Paul Parish, 820 Carbon Rd., Greensburg.  Please go directly to the church.  Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park with Full Military Honors accorded by the VFW Post No. 33, Greensburg Honor Guard.  www.bachafh.com
