Pauline J. Kuhar, 90, of Trauger, died Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at home. She was born April 1, 1934 in Unity Township, a daughter of the late John and Veronica M. (Kaputa) Fetsic. Prior to retirement she worked at St. Vincent Archabbey Monastery, Latrobe, to ensure she could give her kids and education. She was a member of St. Florian Catholic Church, United, and its Rosary Altar Society. Pauline was devoted to her family and her strong faith. She loved to bake and cook (you never left hungry), enjoyed crafts, especially crocheting and making her towels which she gave to everyone. She loved her daily crossword puzzles and word searches, bingo and an occasional trip to the casino. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Kuhar, Sr., 4 sisters, Mary Hovance, Ann Moximchalk, Helen Hixson and Veronica Ihnut and her brother, John Fetsic. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by 4 sons, William A. Jr. and wife Pamela of Level Green, Timothy A. at home, David A. and wife Kathleen of Latrobe and Gregory A. Kuhar at home, her daughter, Paula Scekeres and husband Louis of Whitney, 5 grandchildren, David and his wife Mandeline, Matthew Kuhar and his wife Erin and Hannah Kuhar, Katie Krzeminski and her husband Michael and Sarah Scekeres, 3 great grandchildren, Maia, Timothy and Owen, 2 sisters-in-law, Loretta “Babe” Demurat of Greensburg and Helen “Mollie” Marazza of Bovard and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Friday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 2072 Route 130, Pleasant Unity. Prayers will begin at 9:30 AM Saturday in the funeral home followed by a funeral mass to be celebrated at 10 AM in St. Florian Catholic Church with The Rev. John A. Sedlak as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Florian Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant Township. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Trauger Vol. Fire Dept., PO Box 351, Pleasant Unity, PA 15676.
