Patsy Testa Obituary

Patsy Testa, 95, of Greensburg, died Friday, September 3, 2021, in his home.  He was born May 14, 1926, in Greensburg, a son of the late Libero and Libera (Zappone) Testa.  Prior to retirement he had been employed by H & H Foundry in Manor and previously by Dickerson’s Concrete.  He was a member of St. Bruno Roman Catholic Church in South Greensburg and he served as an usher for many years. Patsy was a member of the Roosevelt Club of Hempfield Township for 74 years where he held many offices and served as a part time bartender. He was a Navy veteran serving during World War II. Patsy loved to garden, loved baseball, and was a jokester. He loved family traditions and, more than anything, enjoyed his family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his 11 siblings, Francis Faro, James Testa, Gen Barba, Bert Massari, Michael Massari, John Massari, Mary Hopkins, Ann Mullen, Lucy Nalevanko, Angeline Croushore and Jean Ramsey; and many nieces and nephews. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Eleanor (Knizner) Testa; two sons, David Testa (Diane), of Cranberry Township, and Paul Testa (Barbara), of Greensburg (formerly lived in Ohio); a daughter, Annette Testa-Young (Michael), of Rochester, Michigan; six grandchildren, Jessamine Freeland (Jake), Christopher Young, Jennifer Testa, Andrew Testa, Alex Testa and Aaron Testa; a great grandson, Wesley Freeland; and many special nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.  Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg.  Prayers will begin at 9:30 AM Wednesday in the funeral home, followed by a funeral mass to be celebrated at 10 AM in St. Bruno Roman Catholic Church, South Greensburg.  Interment will follow in Youngwood Cemetery with Full Military Honors accorded by VFW Post 33, Greensburg Honor Guard.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Bruno Roman Catholic Church. www.bachafh.com
