Patricia Simon Obituary

Patricia D. (Dulkis) Simon, 78, of Greensburg, went to be with her creator on Tuesday, December 16, 2025.  She was born March 18, 1947, in Arona, a daughter of the late William and Edith (Yontz) Dulkis.  Patti was a member of Blessed Sacrament Cathedral, Greensburg and served as a eucharistic minister and visited the sick.  She received nursing degree from Mercy School of Nursing, Pittsburgh, and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from St. Joseph College, Maine.  Prior to retirement, Patti worked in home health, acute care hospitals, and mental health settings.  She had also been a research coordinator for the University of Pittsburgh.

Patti was a daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, neighbor, pet mother and grandmother, and friend. She was a caretaker with a spirit of generosity toward both those she knew and those she didn’t. She wanted happiness for others and gave of herself to help them achieve it. She was kind, gentle, and unfailingly guided by her faith. She was strong, sweet, selfless, creative, thoughtful, intelligent, organized, disciplined, outspoken, tiny but feisty, adorable, resourceful, loving, and endlessly supportive of others.

She loved Jesus, the Blessed Mother, her family, nature, animals, and perfecting the comfort of her home. She had a lovely laugh and a beautiful smile. She made the people she was with feel special and made simple moments with them meaningful.  She loyally loved her husband, intensely adored her children, delighted in each of her grandchildren and their interests, activities and achievements as their Grandma, Nana, and Mimi, and was enchanted by her first and only great grandchild.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her twin brother, Patrick Dulkis.  Patti is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Stephen R. Simon; three daughters, Stephanie McGill (Donald), Tina Lippert, and Shelly Brosey (Douglas); 10 grandchildren, Emily Alexander (Matthew), Ashlin, Callum, Seeley, twins Jesse and Bo, Huck, Mac, Wyatt, and Maggie; one beloved great-granddaughter, Josephine Rose; her brother, William Dulkis (Connie); sister, Rosann Couch; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Thursday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg.  Prayers will begin at 9 AM Friday in the funeral home, followed by a funeral mass to be celebrated at 9:30 AM in Blessed Sacrament Cathedral, Greensburg.  Interment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.

Patti was precious to those who remain and who will endearingly remember her. If she could ask something of you, it might be this: “How different the world would be if the last words people ever spoke were words that brought a smile to someone’s face rather than a tear.  How precious is that virtue of KINDNESS.”  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.  www.bachafh.com
