Patricia R. (Fink) Bair, 96, of Pittsburgh, formerly of Greensburg, died Friday, April 3, 2026. She was born on February 19, 1930, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late William and Margaret (Conner) Fink. She was a graduate of the Westmoreland School of Nursing and the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing.
Pat taught nursing at the Westmoreland School of Nursing from 1952 until its closing in 1975, taught as adjunct faculty at Westmoreland County Community College and the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg, was on the nursing staff at the National Music Camp in Interlochen, Michigan, and was a substitute teacher at Patuxent High School in Lusby, Maryland. She served on the Board of Directors for the Community Nursing Service of Greensburg.
Music was Pat’s true passion. She, along with Sr. Miriam David Volkner, S.C., founded and directed the Westmoreland Music Camp in the image of the National Music Camp. She was an early member, past president, member of the Board of Directors, and played string bass for the Westmoreland Symphony Orchestra. She was a member of the NMC university symphony orchestra, and directed the choir and played the organ at St. Paul Parish, Greensburg. She also was a member of the Board of Directors for the Westmoreland Choral Society before moving with her husband to Maryland in 1996. She was thrilled to move back home to Pennsylvania in April of 2025.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph L. Bair, Jr.; two daughters, Margaret “Peggy” Bair and Kathleen Bair; two brothers, Lewis and Dave Fink; her sister, Judy Fink Schlenke (Carl); and a special aunt, Betty Sweeney.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia “Patti” Bair Meszaros and husband Joseph, of Pittsburgh; grandchildren, Shane Meszaros, of Fall City, Washington, Mitch Meszaros (Karly), of Pittsburgh, Zakary Meszaros (fiancée Stefanie Durrett), of Fall City, Washington, Macha Cauchois, of Bangkok, Thailand, Christopher Bair, of Maryland, and Joseph Monahan, of Maryland; great grandchildren, Harper and Brooks Meszaros; her brother, Paul Fink (Debbie); her aunt, Dolly Moore; and several special nieces and nephews. She was also host-mom to foreign exchange students Kannikar Yantabutr, from Thailand, and Goran Petrovic, from Yugoslavia.
Friends will be received from 12 to 1:30 PM Thursday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg where a service will begin at 1:30 PM. Inurnment will follow in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Huls-Highberger Scholarship Fund at Seton Hill University, Greensburg. www.bachafh.com
