Nicholas V. Zappone, 79, of Greensburg, died Thursday, August 26, 2021 in The Rehabilitation and Nursing Center of Greater Pittsburgh, Greensburg. He was born September 28, 1941 in Greensburg, a son of the late Michael D. and Jennie E. (DeBone) Zappone. Prior to retirement he had been self-employed. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Greensburg. He was also a member of the Hilltop Club and the Cercemaggiore Association. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, David M. Zappone in 1990; and his sister, Genevieve Panigall in 2021. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Constance L. “Connie” (Daverse) Zappone; his son, Nicky Zappone (Lori), of Greensburg; four siblings, Mary Fry, of Greensburg, Vincent Zappone, of Hollywood, Fla., Flora Mae D’Amato (Joseph), of Virginia, Beach, VA, and Michael T. Zappone (Mary), of Greensburg; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Friends will be received from 3 to 7 PM Sunday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 AM Monday in Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Greensburg. Please go directly to the church. Interment will follow in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery. The Zappone family requests face masks be worn in the funeral home and at church.
