Miriam J. (Sweitzer) Hazel, 95, of Tarrs, died Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at her home. She was born August 13, 1929, in Pleasant Unity, a daughter of the late Clayton and Edna (Hohman) Sweitzer. She attended Mt. Pleasant Church of God. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Morton Hazel in 2000; her grandson, Kenny Hazel in 1992; and all of her siblings. She is survived by her children, Dennis Hazel (Terry), Randy Hazel, and Elaine Hazel with whom she lived; five grandchildren, Steve Hazel (Liza), Greg Hazel, Dr. Michelle Scerbo (Scott), Douglas Jay Hazel, and Colleen Hazel; six great grandchildren, Sean Hazel, Maxwell, Mason, and Katherine Scerbo, Izi and Luka Hazel; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 3 to 6 PM Sunday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg. A funeral service will begin at 11 AM Monday in the funeral home with Pastor Brian Zeisloft officiating. Interment will follow in St. Clair Cemetery, Greensburg.
