Mildred “Mitzi” Palenchar, 85, of South Greensburg, died Sunday, March 24, 2024, at Independence Health System Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. She was born August 12, 1938, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Frank Valentic and Stella (Perich) Polocosky. She was a graduate of Hempfield High School class of 1957 and member of Holy Ascension Serbian Orthodox Church, Youngwood. Prior to retirement she had been employed by Powerex and previously worked at Jeannette Glass. She is survived by her two sons, Gregory Palenchar (Gina) and Michael D. Palenchar (Karla) all of Greensburg; three grandchildren, Gregory (Heather), Kristina (Brandon) and John (Brittney) Palenchar; 11 great grandchildren, Luka, Lilly, John Jr., Jordan, Ashleigh, Brayden, Logan, Gavin, Paisleigh, Kadence, and Hunter. Also survived by Mike Palenchar. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Wednesday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg. Pomen service will begin at 7 PM Wednesday in the funeral home. Divine Liturgy will be held at Holy Ascension Serbian Orthodox Church at 10 AM on Thursday. Please go directly to the church.
