Michael “Mickey” R. Bien, 73, of Greensburg, died Tuesday, June 2, 2026, in Independence Health Westmoreland Hospital. He was born September 17, 1952, in Greensburg, a son of the late Helen (Prockup) and John Bien, Jr.
Prior to retirement he had been employed as a coal miner, retiring from the Maple Creek Mine. He then went on to work with Black Mountain Enterprises, Greensburg, where he leaves behind many close and dear friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, John R. Bien; and siblings, Bill Bien and Sharon Moore. Mickey is survived by his son, Michael “Monk” Bien; two granddaughters, Addison Louise Bien and Gianna Tomey; a sister, Nancy Eisaman; two brothers, Ed Bien and John “Jack” Bien; and many nieces and nephews.
