Michael “Mick” Timothy Fyalkowski, of Greensburg, Pennsylvania, played his first round at Heavenly Gates Golf Club on April 17, 2025. While we can never be certain of his score, we can guarantee it was the best round he’s ever played.
Born on December 28, 1957, to Franklin “Whitey” and Ann “Unj” Fyalkowski, in Latrobe, Mick spent 67 years perfecting his game - both on the course and in life. Mick graduated from Saint Vincent College with a degree in Business. He eventually settled in Greensburg, where alongside his wife, Edie, built what he proudly called his “greatest accomplishment”: his family.
Mick was a devoted sports fan. He lived for Steelers’ Sunday and truly thought the Pirates were “going to win 100 games this year”... for the past 20 years. Every spring, you could anticipate numerous calls about March Madness and The Masters.
Mick embraced life. Every Tina Turner song was his favorite Tina Turner song. He knew “the BEST” breakfast diner, cookie lady, song lyric, homemade pierogies, and cheesy joke. He liked a touch of coffee with his creamer, blasting music, but most of all, Mick loved to sit on the porch with his friends and shoot the breeze about anything and everything.
You bet your dupa Mick was a Polack through and through. He made everyone feel welcome and never left a conversation without making you laugh at least once. He never took life too seriously and encouraged you to do the same. He was unapologetically himself, the most outgoing in a room, and the first to turn a gathering into a party. You could meet him for the first time, and by the end of the night he'd tell you how much he loves you - and you'd find yourself loving him, too.
Mick is survived by his wife, Edie and five children, Dj (Mary), Sean (Alanna), Rachel (Matt), Shannon (Eric), and Ryan (Caroline). He was a wonderful Poppa to Scarlett, Bennett, Elliot, Eliana, and Francesca. He is dearly missed by his brothers, Franklin and Jimmy; and niece and nephew, Jenny and Bryan. He was welcomed into Heaven by his parents, his brother, Edward, close friends, and his most loyal companion Samson.
A funeral liturgy will begin at 2 PM Tuesday in the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg with Deacon John Zombar officiating. Visitation will immediately follow until 5 PM in the funeral home. Family and friends are invited to continue to celebrate Mick’s life immediately following visitation at 5 PM at the VFW Post No. 33, Greensburg.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking donations be made to HEAL Animal Rescue in Youngwood.
