Matthew Arandas Obituary

Matthew T. Arandas,84, of Greensburg, died Saturday, February 10, 2024, in Murrysville Nursing Home and Rehab. He was born October 26, 1939, in Norvelt, a son of the late Joseph and Ann (Furin) Arandas. He was a 1957 graduate of Greensburg High School. Matthew served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Greensburg. Matthew was an avid Lionel Model Train Collector and loved railroad rides on restored railroads. Matthew especially loved to travel with his wife Ginny.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his niece, Christine Albert.  He is survived by his loving wife of almost 56 years, Ginny (Greenwood) Arandas; two daughters, Michelle Conroy and husband Jack of Uniontown and Traci Carlberg and husband George Carlberg, Jr. of Washington, PA; a granddaughter, Taryn Carlberg; a brother, Joe Arandas of Greensburg; a sister, Alice Matthews of Southington, CT; several nieces and nephews; a grand dog, Heidi; and three grand cats, Carrot, Dr. Kitty, and Dean.  Friends will be received from 4 to 8 PM Thursday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg.  Prayers will begin at 9:30 AM Friday in the funeral home, followed by a funeral mass to be celebrated at 10 AM in Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Greensburg.  Interment will follow in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery.  www.bachafh.com
