Mary Lou Zepek Obituary

Mary Lou (Parfitt) Zepek, 92, of Greensburg, formerly of Orlando, Fla., died Saturday, October 2, 2021.  She was born May 21, 1929, in Irwin, and was the daughter of the late Margaret (Kifft) Parfitt and Howard Parfitt.  A graduate of North Huntingdon High School, she was employed at Bronks in Irwin, and later at Emar Creations in the former Greengate Mall.  She was a member of St. Paul Parish, Greensburg, and its Rosary Altar Society.  Mary Lou married her high school sweetheart, Raymond Zepek, who passed away May 13, 2020, after 71-1/2 years of marriage.  Surviving are their two daughters, Linda Haun (Donald), of Greensburg, and Vickie Kasa (Mickey), of Jeannette.  She has three grandchildren, Vicki Lynn Powell (Matt), Timothy Bold (Mia), and Jonathan (Erin) Haun; and is graced with eight great-grandchildren.  Forever in her heart will be her beloved pets Maddie and Cuddles (deceased).  Mary Lou was an amazing homemaker and hostess, whose joy was baking and cooking for family celebrations and gatherings with friends.  Her home was always ready to receive guests.  Her hobbies were designing clothes and sewing beautiful items for her home and family.  She and Ray enjoyed many years traveling to memorable destinations, some of which were Ireland and Hawaii.  When they lived in Orlando, Fla., Disney World was a regular destination, as well as trips to the beach and weekend cruises to various islands.  Both she and Ray were polished dancers.  They loved ballroom and square dancing the most.  The family would like to thank the special angels at Redstone Highlands, Greensburg and Redstone at Home Hospice who looked after their mom, especially during the pandemic lockdown.  The care and attention given to Mary Lou will never be forgotten.  A private funeral liturgy was celebrated for Mary Lou on October 5, 2021 in the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton St., Greensburg.  Private interment followed in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Irwin.  www.bachafh.com
