Mary Lou (Balash) Palla

Mary Lou (Balash) Palla, 85, of Greensburg, died Sunday, June 8, 2025, in Independence Health System Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg.  She was born January 8, 1940, in Calumet, a daughter of the late Andrew and Pearl (Tepley) Balash.  Mary Lou was a graduate of Hurst High School and was a member of St. Paul Parish, Greensburg.  Prior to retirement, she had been employed by Bononi and Bononi, and Joe Biss.  Mary Lou enjoyed gambling, bowling, shopping, roller skating, and square dancing. Her family meant the world to her and there was nothing she cherished more than being wife, mother, and grandmother.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Lisa (Palla) Stewart; and her brother, Andrew Balash, Jr. She is survived by her husband of nearly 63 years, Joseph A. Palla; her son, Mark J. Palla and wife, Debbie; her daughter, Donna (Palla) Gamrat and husband, Raymond, Jr.; son-in-law, David Stewart; six grandchildren, Jordyn Palla, Kailee (Gamrat) Wenturine and husband, Triston, Brittany Palla, Andrew Gamrat, Sidney Palla, and Christa Palla; her brother, Edward Balash; cousin, Sr. Elizabeth Jane Tepley; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.  Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Wednesday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg.  Prayers will begin at 9:30 AM Thursday in the funeral home, followed by a funeral mass to be celebrated at 10 AM in St. Paul Parish, Greensburg.  Interment will follow in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery.
