Marta M. (Maxwell) Maher

Marta M. Maher, 74, of Southwest Greensburg, died Thursday, April 22, 2021 in Excela Health Latrobe Hospital.  She was born March 11, 1947 in Bainbridge, Maryland, a daughter of the late Robert Wallace and Anna Margaret (Goldberg) Maxwell.  She was a graduate of Seton Hill College and received her doctorate in education from Duquesne University.  Prior to retirement she had been employed by Seton Hill University with the Project Forward program.  She was involved with many, many organizations and activities.  She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Greensburg.  Marta is survived by her husband, Francis J. Maher; her son, Brian (Ginger) Maher, of Salisburg, NC; her daughter, Kerry L. Maher, of Greensburg; three grandsons, Kyle Britt and Collin and Alec McCullough; her brother, Robert (Mamie) Maxwell, of Cincinnati, OH; and her sister, Anne Maxwell, of Media.  There will be no public visitation.  A private funeral service was held at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg.  Private interment took place in Greene County Memorial Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Maxwell Family Scholarship, First Presbyterian Church, 169 W.
