Marian P. Stockberger, 93, of Unity Township, died Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at home. She was born July 8, 1932, in Latrobe, a daughter of the late Charles S. Sr. and Isabel (McAteer) Dudley. She was a graduate of Derry Borough High School class of 1950 and while in school worked at the Gem Theater in Derry having fond memories of selling popcorn. After school she worked at the former Stupakoff Ceramics, Latrobe, where she met her husband. Marian was an avid reader, gardener, wonderful cook and fabulous baker who loved to share her recipes and expertise with others. She loved her family fiercely and always loved the time they all spent with her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Edward Stockberger, 2 brothers, Charles Jr. and Donald Dudley and 7 sisters, Betty Beveridge, Helen Gamble, Marie Kerrigan, Grace Shrum, Dolores Palmer, Peggy Hemminger and Beatrice Gettemy. She is survived by four sons, David and wife Gail of Monongahela, Dennis and wife Karen of Latrobe, Daniel and wife Renee of Youngstown and Dana Stockberger at home, 6 grandchildren, April Renee Wooten, Alicia Weigand, Matthew Stockberger, Amy Tawney, Chelsee Stockberger (Clayton) and Missy McCurdy (Patrick), 9 great grandchildren, Sziamon, Maggie and Cecelia Wooton, Miles and Clara Tawney, Isabelle, Noah and Aria Miller and Sophia McCurdy, 2 sisters, Linda Houston of Armbrust and Joyce Dudley of state of Oklahoma, a brother, Jesse Dudley of Derry and numerous nieces and nephews. At Marian’s request there will be no visitation. Private inurnment in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant Township. The family would like to thank the staff of Independence Health Home Care and Hospice for the genuinely wonderful care and support. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to your favorite charity. “As those who knew her well can attest, her presence was felt like an endless summer. Her smile could lighten a room where no candles were lit. Her laugh could warm a home with an empty hearth.” LEO M.
