Leyna R. (Hill) Shaffer

Leyna R. (Hill) Shaffer, 43, of Calumet, passed away peacefully at Montefiore Hospital with her husband and two sons by her side. She was born Oct. 14, 1977, a daughter of James Hill of Derry and the late Diane (Skander) Hill. Leyna is survived by her husband of 17 years, Douglas A. Shaffer; two sons, Casey and Cody; her aunt, Shirley Skander, who resided with her; sister, Jamie Hill and significant other, Scott, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; mother-in-law, Kathy Lang and husband, Bob, of Apollo; father-in-law, Walter Shaffer and wife, Lindsay, of Mt. Pleasant; brother-in-law, Scott Shaffer, of Calumet; sister-in-law, Terri Jurica and husband Allen, of Derry; niece, Zoe Shaffer, of Latrobe; two nephews, Zach Shaffer, of Philadelphia, and Hunter Jurica, of Derry; and special friend, Molly Scanlon, of Mt. Pleasant. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 2072 Route 130, Pleasant Unity, PA 15676. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Florian Catholic Church, Mt. Pleasant Township with the Rev. John A. Sedlak as celebrant. Please go directly to the church.
