Leon M. Miles

Leon M. Miles, 99, of Greensburg, died Saturday, August 3, 2024, in Redstone Highlands, Greensburg.  He was born November 27, 1924, in Mount Carmel.  Leon was a proud Navy veteran serving during World War II.  Prior to retirement he had worked as a carbide engineer and metallurgist.  He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Greensburg.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Bertha (Strocko) Miles; his second wife, Ellie (Klingler) Miles; his son, Lee Miles; and his step-grandson, Matthew.  He is survived by his children, Kathy Davis and husband Mike, of Texas, Judith Miles-Bean and husband David, of Oregon, and Jeffrey Miles and wife Karen, of Greensburg; six grandchildren, Lori (Pete), Jennifer, Kristina (Chase), Sarah, Jason, and Joshua; numerous great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  Friends will be received from 12 to 1 PM Wednesday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg.  Prayers will begin at 1 PM Wednesday in the funeral home, followed by a funeral mass to be celebrated at 1:30 PM in Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Greensburg.  Interment will follow in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery with full military honors accorded by the VFW Post No. 33, Greensburg Honor Guard.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Leon’s name to a charity of one’s choice. www.bachafh.com
