Kevin “Slick” Henschel, 63, of Pleasant Unity, died Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at home. He was born November 23, 1960 in Mt. Pleasant, a son of the late Marie A. (Tlumack) Henschel. He served with the US Army and prior to retirement he worked for Local #9 Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers Union, Pittsburgh, and was a longtime faithful mechanic at E.J. Hutter garage in Pleasant Unity. Slick was a dedicated family man, had a love for Disney and was active with his union. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers, infants William E. and Christopher and William P. Henschel and a sister, Deborah A. Ament. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Rhonda D. (Baker) Henschel, 4 children, Justin Henschel (Ashley) of Pleasant Unity, Steven Houser (Molly) of Plato, MO, Chad W. Henschel (Emily) and Brittanie N. Henschel-Newhouse (Nathan) all of Pleasant Unity, 12 grandchildren, Katie, Alexa, Skylynn, Isabella, Layla, Liam, Easton, Eliana, Ava, Jason, Junior and April, 2 sisters, Susan M. Dorsey of Medina, OH and Cynthia J. Walters of Pleasant Unity, mother-in-law, Barbara Lander of Pleasant Unity, sisters-in-law, Patricia A. “Patsy” Henschel of Pleasant Unity and Vanessa Kwaczala of Jeannette, brother-in-law, Ricky Baker of Pleasant Unity, several nieces and nephews and his 3 dogs, Bella, Ella and Carmella. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Sunday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 2072 Route 130, Pleasant Unity where a funeral liturgy will be held at 10 AM Monday with The Very Rev. Earl Henry, OSB as celebrant. Military honors by the Armbrust Veterans and interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant Township. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the family.
