Katherine S. “Kay” Dorko, 90, of Greensburg, died Thursday, December 17, 2020 in Mountain View Senior Living, Greensburg. She was born July 28, 1930 in New Alexandria, a daughter of the late John and Anna (Bogdan) Stromock. She was a 1949 graduate of Derry Township High School and graduated from the Greensburg Licensed Practical Nursing School in 1969. Prior to retirement she had been a licensed practical nurse at Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. Kay was a self-taught seamstress and decorated many homes, including the home of the late Arnold Palmer, and the Latrobe Country Club. She was a member of St. Paul Parish, Greensburg, and its funeral choir. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Dorko; four sisters, Anna Stromock, Helen Stromock, Julia Ulishney, and Mary Lishego; and four brothers, Joseph, John, Anthony, and George Stromock. Kay is survived by her daughter, Patricia Walro and husband Jack, of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; her son, David Dorko and wife Laurie, of Greensburg; four grandchildren, Todd Troutman, Christie Troutman Mathews, Nicole Dorko, and Nathan Dorko; three great-granchildren, Corbin, Liam, and Jaxon Mathews; five step-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren; her brother, Harry Stromock and wife Laura, of Murrysville; and several nieces and nephews.
