Joseph A. Palla, 86, of Greensburg, died Sunday, April 26, 2026, in UPMC Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born December 3, 1939, in Mt. Pleasant, a son of the late Martin and Mary (Tercon) Palla. Prior to retirement he was the owner and operator of the former Country Kitchens, Calumet, and had served with the US Navy. Joe was a devoted catholic and a member of St. Paul Parish and the Knights of Columbus #1480, Greensburg. He was a proud and supportive father and grandfather and coached baseball at Southwest Greensburg Recreation for many years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou (Balash) Palla; a daughter, Lisa Stewart; four brothers, Anthony, Steven, Martin and John Palla; and four sisters, Mary Kuchar, Veronica Lovis, Margaret Hegedus and Elizabeth Uhrin. He is survived by his son, Mark J. Palla and wife, Debbie; a daughter, Donna (Palla) Gamrat and husband, Raymond, Jr.; son-in-law, David Stewart, six grandchildren, Jordyn Palla, Kailee (Gamrat) Wenturine and husband, Triston, Brittany Palla and fiancé Frank Poydence, Andrew Gamrat, Sidney Palla, and Christa Palla; a sister, Dorothy Garsteck; a brother-in-law, Edward Balash; and many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg. Prayers will begin at 9:30 AM Thursday, April 30, 2026, in the funeral home, followed by a funeral mass to be celebrated at 10 AM in St. Paul Parish, Greensburg. Interment will follow in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery, Hempfield Township.
