Jonathan Daniel Engle

Jonathan Daniel Engle, 47, of Greensburg, died Thursday, January 2, 2025.  He was born March 20, 1977, in Greensburg, a much-loved son of Rick and Debbie Engle. Jonathan graduated from California University with honors. He proudly served as a United States Marine.

Jon was immensely creative, enjoyed artwork and music, and treated others who needed help with kindness and respect. He will be remembered for a sly sense of humor and a gentle soul beneath his gruff exterior. He spent Christmas day with his family, entertaining his wide-eyed nieces with sensational stories and teasing his dad and brother. He loved his German Shepards, Thor and Loki, and spent much time on nature trails with them in the mountains.

Jonathan was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ann and Bill Baumann of Greensburg, as well as Helen and Blaine Engle of Brackenridge. His Uncle Mark Baumann died in 1979. In addition to his mom and dad of Greensburg, Jonathan is survived by his daughter, Abbey Zoglmann whom he loved dearly; his brother, Jeremy and wife Kirsten; his nieces, Josie and Jase; his dedicated Aunt Cathy Baumann; and several cousins.

The family would like to gratefully thank those who have prayed for Jon over the years. Though bipolar disorder took Jon’s life, his recent faith in Jesus has restored him to a place in Heaven. He will be sorely missed, but we will rejoin him there. If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord”, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9.
