John Thomas “Jack” Christen, 81, of South Greensburg, died Tuesday, November 3, 2020 in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. He was born December 15, 1938 in Pittsburgh, a son of the late John and Reve (Steinback) Christen. Prior to retirement he had been employed by the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers and was a Navy veteran. Jack was a member of Lodge No. 154 Boilermakers Union since 1969, the American Legion Post No. 981, South Greensburg, the L.O.O.M., and the VFW Post No. 33, Greensburg. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Gary Christen. He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly A. Christen and fiancé James Gaus, of Pittsburgh; four grandchildren, Angela Schnepp, of PA, Heather Sherman, of PA, John T. Winterbottom (Jennah), of PA, and Katie Carlson (Kyle), of PA; eight great-grandchildren; his brother, Jeff Christen, of Calif.; his sister, Tricia Christen Rivas, of Fla.; two sisters-in-law, LaVerne Christen, of Texas, and Susan Christen, of New York; and several nieces and nephews, including Dean Christen.
