John L. Yardley, 83, of Unity Township, died Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at Greensburg Care Center, Hempfield Township. He was born Sept. 24, 1934, in Seminole, Texas, a son of the late Euel A. and Cleola (Trew) Yardley. John had been a pastor at several Assemblies of God churches and was a self-employed contractor. He was a great singer, musician, photographer, artist and baseball player. He loved mountain biking and skiing and received a gold medal from the NASTAR recreational ski race program in Aspen, Colo. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Lucille (Brindle) Yardley. He is survived by his wife, Rhea M. (Johnson) Brajdic Yardley; two daughters, Tammy Owens and her husband, Daniel, and Jan Erny and her husband, James, all of Latrobe; four stepchildren, Ed, Bill and Rich Brajdic, all of Greensburg, and Linda Brajdic, of Philadelphia; seven grandchildren, Ryan, Danielle, Ashlee, Jimmy, Kyle, Stephanie and Carissa; seven great-grandchildren, Gamin, Kiera, Scarlett, Amelia, Logan, Aiden and Jameson; and his brother, Lynn Yardley and his wife, Frances, of Mounds, Okla. Friends will be received from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 2072 Route 130, Pleasant Unity, at which time funeral services will be held with the Rev. Michael A.
