John J. "Pollock" Komarinski, 79, of Greensburg, died Sunday, Aug. 20, 2023, at Harmon House Care, Mt. Pleasant. He was born Feb. 5, 1944, in Greensburg, a son of the late John and Margaret (Novotny) Komarinski. John was a self-employed service technician and operated A1 Automotive, Greensburg, then prior to retirement he worked at JKR Prolift, Mt. Pleasant. John loved his wife, family and friends and had a love for classic cars. He was a member of the Rolling Oldies Car Club since 1991 and was generous with his time and talents, helping friends with their cars. He enjoyed going out with his Friday dinner crew and the Sunday ice cream crew. John was an inspiration and great mentor to his sons and many of their friends. He was also a member of the Bovard Firemen's Club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joan G. (Gondosh) Komarinski. He is survived by his sons, James M. (Nancy), of Mt. Pleasant, Jeffrey A. (Mindi) and John J., of Greensburg, Mark, of Irwin, and Rick Komarinski (Marilyn), of Greensburg; nine grandchildren, Karli, John, A.J., Kyle, Drake, Derrick, Sierra, Austin and Jenna; two sisters, Peggy Hoggett (Jack) and Marlene Zyvith (Ed), all of Greensburg; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 2072 Route 130, Pleasant Unity, where a funeral liturgy will be held at 10 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Peter Augustine Pierjok, OSB, as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Mary Byzantine Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant Township. www.bachafh.com.
