John T. Hayden, Sr., 91, of Greensburg, died Saturday, November 2, 2024, in Lieutenant Colonel Charles S. Kettles VA Medical Center, Ann Arbor, MI. He was born July 3, 1933, in Greensburg, a son of the late L.D. and Agnes (Logan) Hayden. John was an Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. Prior to retirement he had been employed by Bell Telephone Company for 33 years. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Greensburg. He was also a member of the VFW Post No. 33, Greensburg and its Honor Guard. John was a life member of the Greensburg Volunteer Fire Department Truck Company No. 2. He was also a member of the Pennsylvania Fireman’s Association, the Westmoreland County Fireman’s Association, and the F&AM Lodge No. 225, Greensburg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ann (Miller) Hayden; his daughter, Deborah Hayden; his second wife, Charlotte Hayden; and his brother, William Hayden. He is survived by his son, John T. Hayden, Jr. and wife Becha; three grandchildren, Samantha DeLuca (Derek), Meghan Hayden, and J.T. Hayden; his sister, Joann Miller and husband Tom; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg. A funeral service will begin at 11 AM Wednesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Martin R. Ankrum officiating. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park with Full Military Honors accorded by the VFW Post No. 33, Greensburg Honor Guard. The Greensburg Volunteer Fire Department will conduct a service at 7 PM Tuesday in the funeral Home. www.bachafh.com
