Joanne Fetter, 78, of Southwest Greensburg, died Sunday, June 28, 2026, in Westmoreland Manor. She was born February 25, 1948, in Greensburg, the eldest daughter of the late John E. Sr and Valeria (Aleshunas) Fetter.
Joanne was a graduate of Greensburg Salem High School, class of 1966. She was employed by AE Troutman’s, and later worked the midnight shift at Sheetz. When Walmart opened its Greensburg location, she worked there from its opening day until her retirement.
Joanne was a quiet woman, an introvert, with a close circle of loyal and loving friends. Her life was defined by love and perseverance. She beat Breast Cancer, survived a quadruple bypass, and cared for her Mom and Dad throughout their elderly years, providing devoted care for her Mother. She would do anything for her nieces and nephews, taking them on weekend getaways, amusement parks, and picnics in the parks. Joanne believed that the greatest joys in life were found in being close to family, sharing time together, and making memories that would last a lifetime. Her quiet kindness, steadfast love, and selfless dedication to her family are the legacy she leaves behind.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, John E. Fetter Jr.; her niece-in-law Erin Fennel Fetter; and her very best friend, Donnie Cook. She is survived by her two sisters, Valerie Hammack and Patricia Hutchinson (Dale, Sr.); her sister-in-law, Mary Fetter; six nieces and nephews, Alan Hammack (Katie), Christopher Fetter (Amy), Holly Stillato, Dennis Hammack, Timothy Fetter, Vanna Young (Andrew) and; three step-nephews, Dale A. Hutchinson, Jr. (Jenna), Nicholas Hutchinson (Alicia), and Gregory Hutchinson (Michelle); and great-nieces and great-nephews, Kaylee, Cole, Ayden, Owen, Kade, Addy, Chase, Evan, Miranda, Ava, Gianna, and Vincent.
Private funeral arrangements have been entrusted to LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg.
