JoAnne “Jody” Casteel, 94, of Greensburg, went to be with the Lord Thursday, June 5, 2025, at St. Anne’s Home, Greensburg. She was born May 28, 1931, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Frederick and Violet (Baker) Siemon. Prior to retirement she had been a teacher at Hempfield Area School District. Jody was a member of the Church of the Brethren in Greensburg where she was the choir director and organist. She was also a member of the Koinonia Karolers. Jody was never ashamed to tell others about her love for the Lord and how He loves them. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Casteel, Sr.; two sisters, Boots Mori and Gladys Elwilla Siemon; and her brother, Chuck Siemon. She is survived by three children, James Casteel, Jr., Janis Detar (Jerry), and Jon Casteel (Irene); six grandchildren, Devann Casteel, Jennifer Simpson (Bill), Joshua Detar, Josiah Detar, Trevor Casteel (Jaynee), and Kimberly Casteel; and two great granddaughters, Molly and Penny Casteel. Friends will be received from 2 to 6 PM Sunday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg. Additional visitation will be held from 10:30 to 11 AM Monday in Church of the Brethren, 554 Stanton St., Greensburg, PA 15601 where a funeral service will immediately follow at 11 AM with Pastor Stephen Parfitt officiating. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Church of the Brethren. www.bachafh.com
