Jennie Wells Obituary

Jennie Lee Wells, 84, of Unity Township, died Tuesday, October 22, 2024 in Independence Health System Latrobe Hospital.  She was born October 1, 1940 in Latrobe, the daughter of the late David B. and M. Romayne (Hogan) Zundel.  Prior to retirement she was a registered nurse at Latrobe Area Hospital.  Jennie was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, enjoyed sewing and doing puzzles and loved horses and mowing grass.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Wells, a son, Lane Wells and her brother, David E. Zundel.  She is survived by 3 children, Mark Wells and wife Maria, Dorothy Smolleck and husband Dennis and Deena Wells all of Unity Township, her daughter-in-law, Toni Wells of Maryland, son Sean Phillips and wife Lynn of Unity Township, 8 grandchildren, Deidra Jean Wells, Derrick Bailey Wells and wife Erica, Cameron Douglas Wells and wife Shannon, Heather Lynn Frye and husband Nathan, Megan Dawn Smolleck, Hope Gabrielle Wells, Faith Maria Wells and wife Kaylee and Taralee Loveridge and husband Ryan, 5 great grandchildren, Aubrey Elizabeth, Cooper Owen, Natalia Jade and Katrina Jane Wells and Peyton Rose Frye, her sister-in-law, Jane Zundel of Georgia and several nieces and nephews.  A memorial service will be held at 11 AM Wednesday at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 1325 Mission Road, Latrobe.  Private inurnment in Harrold Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Hempfield Township.  LEO M.
