Jeffrey Michael Zachetti, 50, of Greensburg, Pennsylvania, passed away on November 13, 2025, in his hometown. He was born on January 1, 1975, in Greensburg and remained deeply rooted there throughout his life. After graduating from Greensburg Central Catholic where he was the captain of the soccer team, he then earned his undergraduate degree from St. Vincent College with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Jeffrey went on to dedicate over 27 years of distinguished service to the Pennsylvania State Police. Most recently, he served as the Forensic DNA Laboratory Manager at the Greensburg Barracks, where his commitment and expertise left a lasting impact. Jeffrey devoted his entire career to bringing criminals to justice and peace to families in need of answers. Jeffrey was the recipient of the Detective Howard W. Murray Award in Beaver County for his DNA work on a cold case.
Jeff was a beloved father, devoted husband, son, brother, and friend to all who knew him. Jeff’s friends were an extension of his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Ami; his cherished daughter, Mia; his identical twin brother, Brian (who as twins shared a bond that is irreplicable); his sister-in-law, Anne; his beloved niece Isabella; as well as his devoted parents, Melvin and Maxine. He is also survived by his grandmother, Leona Moyer; mother-in-law, Bonita Malovitz; and his uncle, Vince. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his beloved dog, Bella.
Family was at the heart of everything Jeff did. His daughter Mia was the light of his life—watching her play tennis for Hempfield High School brought him immense pride and joy. Whether cheering courtside or spending time together on the court themselves, their bond was unbreakable. He was her true hero. Jeff shared his passion for skiing with Mia and his brother and his time on the ski slopes brought him tremendous joy and peace.
An avid sports enthusiast, Jeff found great happiness in skiing down snowy slopes, hitting the golf course whenever he could, and passionately supporting Notre Dame football along with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins. In addition to countless memories with his wife, family and friends. These pastimes were more than hobbies—they were moments of connection with those he loved most.
Jeffrey’s legacy is one of dedication to his family, to public service, and to living life with enthusiasm and heart. May his memory, smile and quick wit bring comfort to those who knew him.
Friends will be received from 3 to 7 PM Monday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg concluding with a tribute to Jeff at 7 PM.
