Jean Genes Obituary

Jean B. Genes, 90, of Greensburg, died Friday, September 23, 2022, in UPMC East, Monroeville.  She was born July 28, 1932, in McKeesport, a daughter of the late Andrew and Mary (Lucas) Benedict.  Prior to retirement she had been an executive secretary for Healthcare Concepts.  She was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, Greensburg.  Jean enjoyed going on trips to Atlantic City with her grandchildren.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bob Benedict.  She is survived by her husband, Edward V. Genes; her son, Bill Genes and wife Laura; and two grandchildren, Rachael and Benjamin Genes.  Friends will be received from 10 to 11 AM Wednesday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg where a funeral service will immediately follow at 11 AM.  Entombment will follow in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.  www.bachafh.com
