Janet L. (Shine) Hutter

Janet L. Hutter, 84, of Pleasant Unity, died Friday, April 10, 2026 in Hempfield Manor Nursing, Greensburg.  She was born May 16, 1941 in Millwood Shaft, the daughter of the late William and Nellie (Gruska) Shine.  She was a graduate of Derry Area High School class of 1959 and served on the reunion committee.  Prior to retirement she worked at the former Southwest National Bank, Derry and with her late husband operated the former E.J. Hutter Garage, Pleasant Unity.  She was a member of St. Florian Catholic Church, United.  Janet loved to play bingo, go to the casino and watch the Pittsburgh Pirates.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward J. Hutter, 4 brothers, infant Donald and Frank, Gene and Frederick Shine and her in-laws, Betty and Edison Hutter.  She is survived by 2 daughters, Lisa Phillips and husband Randy of Latrobe and Amy Liberoni and husband John of Norvelt, 4 grandchildren, Megan and Lauren Liberoni and Joseph and Robert Phillips, 2 brothers-in-law, Timothy Hutter and wife Phyllis of Greensburg and David Hutter and wife Chris of Salem, OH, sister-in-law, Deborah Hutter of Pleasant Unity and several nieces and nephews.  Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Monday, April 13, 2026 at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 2072 Route 130, Pleasant Unity.  Prayers will begin at 9:30 AM Tuesday, in the funeral home followed by a funeral mass to be celebrated at 10 AM in St. Florian Catholic Church with The Rev. John A. Sedlak as celebrant.  Interment will follow in Unity Cemetery, Unity Township.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Pleasant Unity Vol. Fire Department, PO Box 197, Pleasant Unity, PA 15676 or Hempfield Manor Activities Fund, 1118 Woodward Dr., Greensburg, PA  15601.
