Jane Wolff, 87, of Greensburg, went home to our Lord on Sunday, March 15, 2026. Born Jean Eliza Fligger on August 25, 1938, Jane was the daughter of the late Homer F. Fligger and Eliza (Altman) Fligger. Growing up on a farm, Jane learned the value of independence and hard work – virtues that stayed with her throughout her life.
Jane wed Wayne Wolff and they enjoyed a happy, peaceful life until Wayne’s passing in 2018. Both Jane and Wayne were long-time employees of the Hempfield Area School District where they made many lifelong friendships.
During her entire adult life, Jane was a member of Harrold Zion Lutheran Church, near Hempfield High School. Jane was a member of “The Greatest Generation” and truly exemplified that spirit: Never expecting or wanting anything from others and always insisting on paying her own way.
Jane relished the quiet country life enjoying the majestic view of the Allegheny Mountains from her living room and the tranquility of beautiful sunsets from her back porch. She enjoyed the beauty of nature and was a skilled horticulturalist caring for her many plants and flowers. Always a homebody, Jane never traveled outside of Pennsylvania but enjoyed daytrips with Wayne to Somerset and Johnstown to take in the fall foliage.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and many other family, friends, and loved ones.
As a very private person, Jane opted to not have a public viewing. Private interment took place at Westmoreland County Memorial Park beside Wayne. Many thanks to Independence Health Westmoreland Hospital for the exceptional care provided to Jane prior to her passing. LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg is assisting with arrangements. www.bachafh.com
